I'm a lucky girl because my Mom came to see me this weekend. We always have the best time.Friday night we went to see Marc play at Summer Dance in Grant Park. The rain held off and the dance floor was filled with many people dancing away a beautiful summer's night. I also got to meet Tabitha, one of my best girlie's (Rachel from Cedarville) sister, who was there dancing. Afterwards we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Wineberies, where we enjoyed a late night dinner of french onion soup and their very salty french fries. On Saturday morning we went to the Farmer's market where we bought red raspberries and peaches for a special treat (read on!).

Then we took a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright home/studio and several exteriors of houses he designed here in Oak Park. Above is a picture of us outside his home/studio. Here's a picture of our favorite house. It sold for 4 million a few years ago. Thankfully the weather was gorgeous.
Saturday night Marc met us between his shows at Fogo de Chao, every man's dream restaurant. After grazing off of a very fine salad bar of the freshest ingredients, they bring unlimited amounts of different cuts of beef, lamb, pork, and chicken to your table. They cut it right off the skewer onto your plate. Quite the meal. I wish Dad and David could have been there. Next time!
After we got back to the apartment Mom and I put together a peach and raspberry cobbler. We spent 15 min trying to set up the food processor for about 15 sec of mixing, mixing which we could have done by hand. It turned out great. Our cobbler was delicious that night as well as the next morning for breakfast. Then after the cobbler was done, we curled up on the couch until late looking at pictures of dogs on-line. Thank you Mom for humoring me and my new obsession. There are some pretty crazy looking dogs out there and some pretty crazy dog stories! Our favorite was Flea the male chihuahua who has a very special condition. We laughed until we cried! You'll definitely want to meet Flea at http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8995617 Here's us with the cobbler on Sunday morning after church. The worship team played everything in blue grass style. We loved it! The Old rugged cross, In the garden, By the marks...
After church we took Mom to another favorite of ours, Mama Thai. Since we had another gorgeous day, after lunch Mom and I took a long walk through the neighborhoods of River Forest, the community next door to Oak Park where I live. We enjoyed looking at the houses and just being out in the sunshine and fresh air. We then sat outside at Panera, drinking iced tea and splurging on the most decadent chocolate fudge brownie from Whole Foods. My Dad told my brother that women eat chocolate to stabalize their endorphins. I'll be using that one, thanks Dad!
Unfortunately our weekend came to an end Monday after I got home from the hospital. The time always goes by too quickly. Mom, I absolutely love getting to spend time with you like we do on weekends like these. I'm never ready for you to go and always ready for you to come back. You're welcome here any time and I already miss you. Thanks Dad for sharing Mom with me this weekend. I miss you too and next time you'll both have to come. I'm so very blessed to have you as Mom and Dad! Love you!

When I finished reading this, I told Ryan that I need to go on a trip with my mom. Even if it's just a day shopping trip. It's just been too long.
It looks like you had such fun :)
Love you.
